Accreditation & Compliance

DNA Testing Standards,
Accreditation & Compliance

DNA Vue coordinates professional DNA testing and sample collection throughout the UK. Laboratory analysis is performed by our UKAS-accredited laboratory partner under internationally recognised testing standards.

Verification

Six standards
behind every result.

Blocks 02–06 describe DNA Vue's own operating standards and the legal duties we follow. They are not additional accreditations.

01

UKAS Accredited Laboratory Analysis

UKAS ISO/IEC 17025

DNA Vue works with a UK-based laboratory partner accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to ISO/IEC 17025 for DNA testing.

DNA Vue itself is not a laboratory and does not claim independent UKAS accreditation. Laboratory analysis is performed by our accredited laboratory partner.

02

Chain of Custody & Sample Identity

DNA Vue process standard

Where a test is intended for legal or immigration use, samples are collected by an independent sampler, identity is verified from documents, and each sample is labelled and tracked against the case reference from collection through to the issued report.

Peace-of-mind samples follow the same reference system, so the person, the sample and the result always belong to the same case.

03

Consent & Sampling of Minors

Consent requirements

Testing proceeds only with appropriate consent for every person sampled. Where a child is tested, consent is taken from a person with parental responsibility, and the relationship of each sampled person to the case is recorded before analysis begins.

We explain the consent position for your particular arrangement before you pay, and will not proceed where it cannot be satisfied.

04

Handling of Genetic Data

UK GDPR & Data Protection Act 2018

DNA information is special-category personal data, and we handle it on that basis. Samples, personal details and results are stored securely, released only to the person or organisation named on the case, and retained only as long as the purpose of the test requires.

We do not sell personal or genetic information, and our full data practices are set out in the privacy policy.

05

Result Reporting Standards

DNA Vue reporting standard

Reports are issued in the form the laboratory produces them. A paternity report states a probability of paternity, typically greater than 99.99% when the tested man is not excluded, and a conclusive exclusion when he is.

We do not describe an inclusion result as "100% accurate", because the science reports a statistical probability, and we present it exactly as the laboratory does.

06

Sample Handling & Turnaround

DNA Vue service standard

The price you see is the total you pay, with no compulsory laboratory fee added later. Results are ready within 3–5 working days of samples reaching the laboratory, and we confirm the expected timeline when you book.

If a sample needs to be collected again, we tell you as soon as the laboratory raises it and arrange the re-collection.
